Quantum fields (Semesters 6-7)

Lectures:Maxim Libanov
Seminars:Тимирясов
Alexander Radionov

Abstract

The quantum field is a common physical concept which describes the properties of elementary particles and their interactions. One-year course is an introduction to the theory of quantum fields. During the course students become familiar with the methods of quantization of free fields, S-matrix description of interacting fields, study how to build Feynman diagrams and calculate the particle decay widths and cross-sections of scattering processes; gain a basic understanding of the renormalization theory and renormalization group methods.
